This 1903 illustration shows a map of the eastern world in the time of Nebuchadrezzar. Scholars differ on their size, but archaeological excavations do attest to some type of grandiose structure. He is known for the area of his palace in Babylon that came to be known as the Hanging Gardens and was considered one of the seven ancient wonders of the world. He determined to make his capital city of Babylon the finest in the world. Nebuchadnezzar was king of Babylon 605-562 B.C.
